“The New Englander” is both a section of New England Magazine online dedicated to the people of New England as well as a complimenting print version published annually focused on “The Best Of”, where we select the most popular articles, features, and other content published over the year to be included. The Print version also includes exclusive “Print Only” articles and departments making this hard copy a collectors item and must have for all true New Englanders!

The print version of “The New Englander” will also contain substantial content contributed by users and subscribers in the form of letters, articles, photos, and other contributions made by our subscribers. Our mission is not only for The New Englander to be the premier publication for the New England region but also allow this type of input and creative vision from true New Englanders to help build and create the magazine each year so it is something everyone is proud of and something that truly represents the people of New England.

We believe the people of the 6 states that make up New England recognize that they live in the most historic area of the country and are proud to call themselves New Englanders. The term New Englander has evolved over time and it’s meaning is more than just a person living in one of the New England states but often describes a type of person whose attributes represent what it means to be a true New Englander. Attributes like work ethic, pride, family values, and recognition of what it means to be a member of the New England community.
